The most common tumours affecting eyelids is Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) also known as rodent ulcer. It is a slowly growing lesion that may ulcerate and cause bleeding from time to time. It tends to be painless and if on the eyelid margin may be associated with localised lash loss.

BCC is treatable by its complete excision and reconstruction of the eyelid.

Other less common eyelid tumours include Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC), Sebaceous Cell Carcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma and Melanomas.
