Experience and training:

Mr Ghazi-Nouri is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon at Broomfield Hospital, Mid Essex Hospital NHS Trust, Chelmsford. He is a comprehensive ophthalmologists specialising in cataract surgery, tear duct and eyelid surgery and reconstruction. 

Mr Ghazi-Nouri graduated from the Royal Free Hospital Medical School, University of London, in 1995 where he also completed an intercalated honours degree in Pathology and was awarded the degrees of Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He subsequently underwent ophthalmology training in several major London teaching hospitals including Royal Free Hospital, University College Hospital, Whittington Hospital, Great Ormond Hospital for Sick Children and St George’s Hospital. He completed his higher surgical ophthalmology training at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

Mr Ghazi-Nouri is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologist (FRCOphth). He has been awarded the postgraduate degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of London following his research in the field of retinal disease.

He has further undertaken fellowship training in oculoplastics and lacrimal disorders at Moorfields Eye Hospital.

Mr Ghazi-Nouri’s special interest is in cataract surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery of eyelids including treatment of eyelid mal-positions, eyelid tumour excision and reconstruction, ptosis surgery, blepharoplasty and tear duct drainage surgery for watery eyes. He also uses Botulinum Toxin (Botox) injection for treatment of blepharospasm.

Mr Ghazi-Nouri is on the specialist register. He is a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (BOPSS) and European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS).

He has presented at national and international meetings and has been the author of several articles in widely read peer reviewed ophthalmology journals in the area of cataract surgery, glaucoma, retinal disease and oculoplastics and lacrimal disorders.
